Black Bear Feeding on Bella Coola Hill
British Columbia

The valley of Bella Coola in British Columbia is one of my favourite wildlife photography destinations.  The bears gather in the spawning channels of the Bella Coola valley in August and September to fish for salmon exhausted by their long journey upriver, and seem to have an almost limitless supply of fish to help thembuild up fat reserves for the long winter hibernation.

The Bella Coola hill, known locally simply as The Hill, is notorious for it's steep climbs and sharp bends. We are used to encountering bears almost as soon as we come to the bottom of the hill, and this female Black bear was feeding on the verge right at the end of the last descent. A great welcome to a favourite place.

The print is available in three sizes and two different frames. For a bit more information about how our mounted prints are made and your framing options just click here.
