Product Description

Taken in the huge Central Cemertary in Vienna, this European field hamster may look just like a pet hamster but is a wild cousin which was once widespread across Europe. They have recently colonised green spaces in European cities and Vienna is an especially good place to find them.

They are much larger than a domestic Hamster, pretty much Guinea pig sized. They collect grasses in their cheek pouches during summer to make hay for the winter.
