Longhorn Cow and Calf photographed near Malham, Yorkshire Dales

The English Longhorn was developed in the North of England around the
Craven area. It was bred as a draught animal as well as for milk, butter
and meat production. Longhorns can still be found roaming the Craven hills
and in spring with their attractively patterned calves at foot they make
great subjects.
