Red Kangaroo and young image taken near Charleville, Australian Outback
Red Kangaroos are the largest of Australia's kangaroo species, and, confusingly, also come in a kind of blue/grey colour. They are truly massive, males can stand at over 7 feet tall on their hind legs, and to watch them moving across the red outback landscape is an awe inspiring sight. This female roo and her baby were photographed just outside the outback town of Charleville, which is rumoured to have more kangaroos than people. I'm not entirely sure what the youngster was trying to convey but his expression undoubtedly makes the shot!!
