Living alongside Polar Bears is a fact of life in Churchill. This little Canadian town reallydoes feel like it is perched on the edge of the world. Inaccessible by road, it can be reachedonly by plane, or a long train ride through forest and tundra. Polar bears are found hereall year round, breeding in the nearby Wapusk National Park and foraging along the shoreline.

In winter they gather close to town waiting for the sea ice to freeze over, ready to venture
out to sea to hunt seals. This young female was photographed from one of the famous
Tundra buggies, huge wheeled vehicles which venture out across the tundra in search of 
Arctic wildlife
